Multiplayer guide

Big Walk Co-op & Multiplayer

Big Walk is an online cooperative adventure built for 2–12 players. The host keeps the group’s save, while friends join through platform connections or a Join Code.

Quick answer: Choose the host before you begin. The same person needs to open the saved world whenever your group wants to continue that journey.

How sessions work

  • One player hosts the world and holds the automatic save.
  • Friends can join an active session through their platform friend list or a Join Code.
  • When the host ends the session, the rest of the group disconnects.

Choosing a world size

  • The host selects a 2-player, 3-player or 4+ world configuration.
  • Choose based on the smallest reliable group, not the largest number of visitors you expect.
  • That setting changes some challenge configurations but does not cap the number of people who can join.

Good group habits

  • Decide who hosts before a long session.
  • Use the game’s voice or text systems to preserve its communication challenges.
  • Keep screenshots or notes for unfinished puzzles, landmarks and coordinates.
